Why are the SRs aluminum frame and the BCs carbon frame? Weird... Love my Lew's though.

Not sure but their mach crush spinning combos are nice

They are, but again Carbon frame BC reel, and Aluminum frame SR

To note, I have 2 Mach II spinning reels and they're great. Wanted to get a reel for one of my rods, and was interested in the Mach II BC but decided not to cause of the carbon frame so I went with the Tournament MB.

yeah it should be the other way around. I cant remember off the top of my head how much the mach 2 is but i think it is very deserving of an aluminum frame. I think if they did have aluminum frames a lot more people would throw them.

I have one... It's nice. I broke the tip on the rod unfortunately but I've been using the reel for a couple seasons and it's still going strong.

That combo was $99 at DICKS not long ago. One of the young guys at work was looking for a bc combo and I turned him on to it. He loves it. Forget what he said he spooled it with. I thought I may have been pushing him that direction so I told him if he didn't like it I'd buy it from him. He thinks it's great. Glad ya'll like them. I fish a Lews LFS reel and like it. Granted it's only a $99 reel and BPS discounted that some so i tried it. Have it on a Dobyns Rod. Works well for its purpose.

I noticed the same thing. I assume it is to keep the cost and weight down on the BC combos. The Mach Crush is the same way, Aluminum frame on the spinning reel and carbon frame on the BC. The Custom Black combos are the only ones that the spinning and BC reels are both aluminum.

I have both of the Mach II combos, spin and BC. I picked up the BC combo at the clearance price of $99 at DSG. I have been using it exclusively since I bought it, I like it that much.

It casts great, is nice and light and I like the smaller Winn grip knobs as opposed to the larger knobs on my Mach Crush BC or the paddle knobs on my Tournament MB or LFS' Normally I like aluminum framed reels but $99 for a $180 combo was to good to pass up.

As far as the aluminum body spinning version goes, I highly recommend it. Second season with it and it performs like the day I purchased it.

Oh yeah, my aluminum bodied Mach II spinning reels work flawless.  I might also be biased cause I'm a Lew's reel Fan Boi...

I'm a big-time fan of Lew's reels but I would never buy any Reel with a carbon frame no matter who makes it
