Hello People first post here.

Question... re-spooled one of my reels, Revo X. Same everything.. line, lure, weight. Getting a ton of fluff on cast .. my breaks r now set to 3/4 max which is higher than usual, and spool is way tighter than normal, I usually set so there is just no side to side...now its so tight lure barley drops.  I don't get it. never had this before.. could this be caused by not spooling reel tight enough? It seems tight. Something is not right as with break and reel setting this should not be happening and I'm thumbing as usual.

Thanks

Just have to keep making adjustments until it is dialed in.

I’m no pro at respooling so I sometimes have that problem. First I think I put 5-10 yards to much on, once I get that straightened out I wrap my lure around something and walk off as much like as I can and reel it back up tight while walking. Usually good after that. Sounds silly I know, but’s that’s where I’m at with it.

When you first respool new line, it trends to be loose coil on spool (line memory from manufacturer spool is less). The very first few cast you will have to take it easy, because the line is ready to jump off spool. Unlike those in spool for awhile and already develop memory with tighter coil on spool.

I have the same issue with my Revo X.  I feel like i have to run it a little low on line to perform well.
