Hewhospeaksmuchbull Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Great timing for me, just starting out with spooks and other top waters. Thank you. I don't want to take away from your video here, but do you have any videos on the basics for spooks? Quote
deadadrift89 Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I'm gonna try the extra split ring idea out. Thanks 1 Quote

I don’t have a video on the basics of “fishing spook type baits” but perhaps that’s one to put down for the future. Appreciate the feedback and idea. ? 2 Quote
5/0 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 How about hook size in general for cranks, jerks, and top water? I ask because I have several of these baits in cabinets and would like to replace the trebles. The problem is that I don’t know the original hook size. Do I need to buy a wide variety of trebles and hold them up to the original to determine the size of the replacement? Also, are sizes different depending on the brands sold? Thanks....Joe 1 Quote
James Niggemeyer Posted September 9, 2019 Author Posted September 9, 2019 Hey Joe, great question! Yes hook sizes are going to vary from manufactures, styles or designs to some degree. So when you’re replacing trouble hooks on crank baits jerk baits and different things like that try to look at a similar size and/or style to get a general ballpark for What it should be replaced with. Also remember with certain baits you could upsize and downsize and still not sacrifice action too much. Hope this helps Quote
