As the title states I have $150 to spend on a baitcasting combo. Im looking for something 7 feet long, medium heavy, fast tip and sensitive.  I fish from the bank so casting distance comes into play as well.

Please help me narrow down the option out there. For a newer fisherman it is very overwhelming.

Thanks in advance.

Gonna be tough at your budget. One thing I would highly suggest is to the Best rod possible. I've owned lots of different makes, both budget and the 290.00 range. So 2 rods I'm pretty impressed with is the Irod Genise II, and the Diawa Tatula XT rods. Irods are 149.99 and the Xt rods are 109.00 to 120.00. TW has a sale right now, so...The XT rods are really light, great action, but like most rods are a tad over rated for the amount of weight they will cast. I have the 7' MH and love it. You spend a bit more than the 150.00 and grab a Diawa Fuego CT reel off ebay, or if you want a right hand reel, Shimano_1 has 2 of them for sale @ 65.00 each. Happy shopping..

The Lews combos will catch fish and they look cool too. I almost got the mach crush as my first  bass rig because I liked the orange color. Then I came here and the rest is history (including my bank account).

Thanks! So last night I ordered the lews mach crush.  And just ordered this as well. Lol screw it. You only live once right?

Great picks.

Beware of the Baitmonkey.  Before you know it you will have more equipment than you can ever fish.

I like the way you think. Good luck with your new setups.

I have the Mach Crush combo..other than it being uncomfortable to palm, I love it. I use it more than my HyperMag/Levante DSR set up lol.

I think you’ll get an appreciation of fishing some of your lures from shallow water into deeper water. Especially at drop offs. You may not loose as many but I’m not sure of that. I don’t lose all that much stuff. I hope that makes some sense.
