I'm working through the holiday. Got blanked last night except for one dink. I'll show those bass. No offerings from me for two days. So there.

Gonna fish hard for a few hours tomorrow. Be out for sun up and fish a couple sections. Hope for both greenies and smallies.

Have a good holiday.

Way to busy on the water for us. Think we might head to the local DQ, pick up an ice cream , and watch the backed up traffic. People spending half their holiday getting into Maine, then turning around and spending the last half trying to get back home.

Happy holiday everyone. With the lake being so busy this weekend it was a great time to creek and canal fish. Fallfish and Smallmouth were biting.

All lakes around me will be basically off limits due to traffic.

So it will be a backyard BBQ with friends and family and fishing Tuesday.

I avoid getting on the water on all holiday weekends. Don't have any plans at all for the holiday. Everyone have a good holiday and stay safe.

Fished on friday for 2.5 hours on the boat from 6-8:20pm going 0 for 7

Fished on the in the dark at 9pm and caught a 3lbr and I brought no light and was attacked by mosquitos

Fished saturday on the dock from 6-6:15am and had 1 bite off on 24" pike and lost one. Then went 0 for 12 until 12pm from the boat and I called it quits and took the boat outta the water (was planned).

To recap, $6 of lures/hooks.lost but zero boat traffic (public lake but nobody fishes it but the people who live on it) and I went 0 for 19.

Still nice to be on the water, have a happy holiday all!

Load a cooler and go to the lake. Leave your boat at home but bring a camera. It'll be a great day for videoing boat ramp fails . Launching and loading will be hilarious. I was leaving the lake last week with my little aluminum boat around 1 pm. A man around his mid 50's was attempting to back his $109,000 glitter boat down the ramp. I was talking to his daughter and she tells me it's the first boat he's ever owned and he's super proud off it. She said he told the marina he wanted the fastest bass boat they could make. She said it'll go 95 mph according to the marina he bought it from. It was really really nice 2 Solix 15's, Solix 10, power poles, hydraulic jack plate, and you name it. 51 minutes later it finally floated off the trailer. I'm very glad I was off the water while he was out there. I suggested to the daughter to keep her life jacket on.

Happy and safe Labor Day to you all....the only time I would fish Holidays was on the upper Columbia River.  Wind usually kept everyone away...out here in Tennessee I find other things to do besides watch people and shake my head.

:)

I don't fish on holiday weekends, I just drive around the lakes and see who is fishing my spots.

I figured out the most unappealing spot within an hours drive and when there this morning.  The plan worked as I only saw two other people.  I only caught one bass, but still.

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend with family and friends. With the weather report saying temperatures near triple digits pretty much means everyone is headed for the water. I’m fortunate enough to have a pool to enjoy and can look forward to when everyone is back at work to get out on the water.

I’m planning to go shortly. Waiting for a little storm to go by. Should have the lake to myself as usual.

went yesterday evening for about 45 minutes( storm drove me in ) and it was dead- no runs, no hits, no errors.

You might wonder why I’m going fishing and a hurricane is coming. I don’t have much storm prep left, I’m off, and caught up with other responsibilities. Prayed up too. My heart goes out to those in the Bahamas.

Enjoy the holiday everyone.

I’m going to change things up today and target walleye. Hopefully be grilling some for supper.
