Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 30, 2019 Global Moderator Posted August 30, 2019 General tire world championship, redcrest championship, stage 8 championship, which one is the real McCoy? Why not just have 1? How many more “championships” will they have this year with all the same competitors? Every time wheeler uploads a new video he is fishing for another championship Quote
RichF Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 New Major League Fishing record....most championship events held in a single season of any professional sport! If I didn't love bass fishing so much, MLF would be the most irritating thing on the planet. 3 Quote

Jleebesaw Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Wheeler has a you tube video that explains it. Basically there is 2 series in mlf. Almost like nascar has xfinity series and monster energy cup series. The lower series is the one where they dont know where they will be fishing and have to use the provided boats with everybody having the same electronics. The upper series is the bass pro tour. This means there are individual event champs, mlf cup series champ, bpt champ, and redcrest champ. The red rest is a stand alone event. Calling individual even winners the champion causes the confusion. It's a matter of semantics. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted August 31, 2019 Super User Posted August 31, 2019 Because in no other sport they don't compete for more than one championship? SEC east champion, SEC Champion, National Champion. Oh wait, you root for Tennessee so you probably weren't old enough to remember when Tee Martin was leading them to championships. That's 3 championships in one year. It happens. Quote

And we have another home and home coming up with Oklahoma in the future.... Quote

The Sooners were down at after 3 and had to score 14 in the fourth to force an OT thriller. There are guys on local sports radio that played in that game and they have said it was the loudest game they have ever played in. Quote

And that team was coached by quite possibly the worst coach in the history of the gridiron, Butch Jones. If you recall he kicked a field goal from the one inch line allowing OK back into the game. I couldn’t believe mayfield kept slipping away from our defenders but as it turned out he is pretty good! Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 31, 2019 Author Global Moderator Posted August 31, 2019 In football it’s easier to understand, the last game chronologically is the biggest championship. Conference, then national. Or in the pros it all leads to a super bowl. Was redcrest the super bowl? If so they need a new name for it haha Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted September 1, 2019 Super User Posted September 1, 2019 Georgia State, week one champions! Quote

That's not how it works ...... We root for Taliban vs Alabama It's ok former coach butch Jones said our recruits were champions of life , must be like MLF Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted September 1, 2019 Super User Posted September 1, 2019 I like that! I too would rather cheer for the taliban over the pokes or longhorns. Quote
dickenscpa Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I like MLF and consider myself to be a fairly bright fellow, but I must admit it confuses me as well - and I watched Wheeler's video explaining it. Quote

Super User Oregon Native Posted September 13, 2019 Super User Posted September 13, 2019 OMG....I too am sooo confused...to the point I've almost started just reading books when I get home. And just check out Bassresource or other sites when I want contact with the fishing world. (guess I'm getting old) Quote
