Open the package and take a whiff.  That should answer your question.

The river smallies where I fish love the Chompers Garlic.

Put some of your worms or craws in a small ziplock bad and spray some of that on overnight.

You’ll have all the scent you need.

Tav, I want to share with you, as I have done for others on this site, the formula given to me by Dr. Jones at Berkeley research lab regarding the best scent to use on plastics.

Everyone else please pay attention.

MegaStrike is excellent. Use it as a backup to the following formula.

Go to Walmart and buy a container of live Nightcrawlers.

Go home and put the Nightcrawlers in a special blender along with water.

Do not use your wife's blender. Buy a small, cheap, small blender at Walmart for this.

Blend the worms into a paste. The consistency of the paste will be based on the amount of water you use. You may want more water to make sure the mix is really messy.

Using your own spatula you bought at Walmart, scrape the mixture into a freezer bag, usually a half or full gallon freezer bag.

You can also use a Tupperware type container.

Once again, do not use any household spatulas.

Place the plastics you will be throwing into the bag with the mix, massage the bag so the plastics are hidden within the mix, and place in refrigerator.

Tell family about it so they don't use it for sandwiches.

Let sit in refrigerator at least overnight.

Put bag or Tupperware into a cooler with ice to keep cold so the mixture will not spoil.

Take with you and use the plastics during the day.

Best scent you could ever think of using.

You may want to score a box of surgical blue gloves to remove your plastics from the bag and put on your hook.

Also, you can go with MegaStrike or the new Power Bait plastics hawked by Hank Parker.

But the Nightcrawler formula is the best.

Good luck.

I personally can't stand that garlic smell everywhere . I get confused in the woods like is it time to fish or eat bread sticks. ?

It gets everywhere. Like JJs ... It's a nice powerful dye but makes everything smell like garlic.  Your bag, your truck your hands. No thanks.

Strike kings coffee scent or even the squid scent most Japanese companies use are way less offensive to me.

Ever since I got some of these I keep reading the package and it smells nothing like coffee to me.

I *used* to do this until one day I forgot my rag and only had my pants. The wife was NOT a big fan!
