Am looking for a kayak(sit and stand on top) under $600. Anyone know of a good one?

Well I'm selling my Atak 120 for $600 but you're a bit far away.

Buy used.

This is your best option.  There's quite a few kayakers from your area, shouldn't be too hard to find a good end of summer deal.

Definitely your best option is to buy used. Look on Craigslist or a boat dealer website. I bought my Old Town predator for $650, and its barely used and came with quite a few extras. This kayak usually retails for around $1400 - just proving how much money you can save on a used yak!

A Wilderness Systems Atak for $600...that might be worth the road trip, @Johnpenguin.

Fall is the time to buy. You can usually get a good deal on a used or demo kayak on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace this time of year.

Also, dealers will start clearing inventory, especially if next years model will be a redesign. Last year Vibe was offering big discounts on Seaghost models. This year Feelfree kayaks will most likely be significantly reduced.

One specific model to look for is a 2019 Feelfree Moken 12. MSRP is $799, but you will likely be able to find one in your price range since the 2020 remodel is already shipping to some retailers.

Buy used or if you have legit kayak shops in your area a lot of them are running deals to clear out 2019 to make room for 2020 models. I'm blessed to have a few good shops in my area and 2 out of 3 were running awesome deals.

I bought mine at Hook1 in Hendersonville, TN and they had all 2019 models 25% off with an additional 15% off any accessories you bought with it. So I splurged a bit on my paddle.

TNKayaks in Carthage, TN was selling a brand new Malibu Stealth 12 for $895 and that's a $1400 kayak. A Jackson Bite for $600 even and one more that MSRP's at $899 for $595. They had other fantastic deals but the three I mentioned were the ones I was interested in. All were brand new and never in the water.
