I've been thinking about this for a while now and it's definitely some food for thought. Interested in hearing some other opinions.

Chigger craws and Super chunks are what I am using 90% of the time.

I’ve found Gambler Megadaddys to slow the fall rate more than any other trailer.  They do flap a lot, but again have really BIG flappers too..

I'm partial to the Havoc Pit Boss on my punch rig. That and a bulky, or double skirt to slow the fall rate, but still allows penetration of the canopy and the claws don't catch on the heavy vegetation when the bait is falling.  The two craw style trailers that I've found to really slow the fall of a flipping jig are the Rage and Paca craws.  I've even inserted bits of packing peanuts into the hollow of a Paca Craw to slow the fall even more.

I use a Zoom Twin Tail Grub or an Ultra Vibe Speed Craw for jig trailers.

I'd rather use the lead portion of the lure vs the plastisol portion to effect fall rate. The trailer I prefer handle the bulk and action.
