Grim_Reaver Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 I've been thinking about this for a while now and it's definitely some food for thought. Interested in hearing some other opinions. 5 Quote
Falkus Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Nice education video there ... I use that powerbait for my jigs Quote
Super User Munkin Posted August 26, 2019 Super User Posted August 26, 2019 Chigger craws and Super chunks are what I am using 90% of the time. Allen Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted August 26, 2019 Super User Posted August 26, 2019 I’ve found Gambler Megadaddys to slow the fall rate more than any other trailer. They do flap a lot, but again have really BIG flappers too.. Quote
papajoe222 Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 I'm partial to the Havoc Pit Boss on my punch rig. That and a bulky, or double skirt to slow the fall rate, but still allows penetration of the canopy and the claws don't catch on the heavy vegetation when the bait is falling. The two craw style trailers that I've found to really slow the fall of a flipping jig are the Rage and Paca craws. I've even inserted bits of packing peanuts into the hollow of a Paca Craw to slow the fall even more. Quote

Super User Log Catcher Posted August 27, 2019 Super User Posted August 27, 2019 I use a Zoom Twin Tail Grub or an Ultra Vibe Speed Craw for jig trailers. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted August 27, 2019 Super User Posted August 27, 2019 I'd rather use the lead portion of the lure vs the plastisol portion to effect fall rate. The trailer I prefer handle the bulk and action. Quote
