I have a Vendetta spinning rod (7') that I really love but today the tip top insert came out. It's still under warranty but I'd rather not have to send it back and be without it for a couple of weeks. I also just installed an Ardent overgrip (which is really comfy) but was a wrestling match to get it on. Can I use a ultraviolet type glue of super glue to reinstall the insert? If doing this is the least bit questionable, I'll send it back. I don't want a failure in the middle of fighting a fish.....

Any thoughts on this?

I would just replace the whole tip.  Heat it.up slowly and pull it off - buy the same size tip and prep the end of the rod and install the new end as instructed.

I had a casting Vendetta with the same issue. Local shop fixed it for $7. Abu actually sent me a brand new rod and didnt make me break the old one so I got a second rod for $7 essentially.

I'm hoping I have the same luck as you did. I submitted a warranty claim and I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Yes replace the whole tip top. There are kits readily available. For an exact match I’d expect ABU to send one N/C

When I spoke with Abu, they told me they don't have rod components, so they just replace the rod.

Abu wants me to cut the rod in half. I wish there was a way around that......

I replied to their request and stated that it was already in half (2 piece) and asked what should I do. They replied for me to call them and pay the $9.95 fee. I'll gladly do that and hopefully they'll overlook the cutting issue.....

I've glued many inserts back in over the years. Super glue will work in a pinch but epoxy is better. I always use red building epoxy and have never had one come back out. Most are kinda less fitted in. Replacing tip is also a good option.  I wouldn't send it back if it were me but definitely ur choice

The planets and stars aligned, and I didn't have to cut the rod. I called the number they provided and went through the process of paying the replacement handling fee. No photo of the rod was asked for. On the down side, the replacement rod is backordered till the end of the month. Not a deal breaker for me. Not too shabby. A new Vendetta for $9.95.....

I've been extremely pleased with AG warranty service both times that I needed them.

If you haven't actually cut the rod, I'd do as @Delaware Valley Tackle suggested and replace the tip on the old one. (I'll let @MickDhandle the integrity part.

I've replaced a number of tips with ease and no drop in performance.

How does one go about replacing the tip top when thread ramps over it? The obvious is to delicately cut it away but now it becomes a not so simple repair. Thread, Flex Coat, and a new tip top would be needed. Unless I'm not seeing something.....?
