BassNJake Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 End of the season BPT championship is being held on the Mississippi River out of LaCrosse Wisconsin. The live show starts at 9:30am, like always on the BPT we'll be missing the morning action as the tourney starts at 7am. Who you got winning? I'm gonna go with Ott even after his heart surgery https://majorleaguefishing.com/ Also- just My opinion but this has to be one of the worst names for a championship event 1 Quote
SC53 Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Agree Jake. Redcrest, really, that’s all they could come up with. 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted August 20, 2019 Global Moderator Posted August 20, 2019 Ott will be hard to beat. Wheeler has been on a tear though. 1 Quote
Hawkeye21 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I wish I was up there watching from the water. It's only a two hour drive but I have too much going on already. At least I can listen and watch on my computer at work this week. 1 Quote

Soooooo, guess I was wrong about this. They already have coverage rolling with the after show guy(Steve something or other) and Rob Newell i'm guessing at 9:30am the regular hosts will be taking over Quote

Troy85 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Ott and Wheeler will both be up there near the top of the leader board. 1 Quote

dickenscpa Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Thanks for the heads up! Every time it goes to commercial my volume gets muted and when the commercial is done my live stream stops. I have to reload the page and unmute everytime. 1 Quote
SC53 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Last I saw Ott wasn’t in the top 20 and Wheeler was in 14. Quote
j bab Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I hope my man Michael Neal can pull off a win. He's had consistently good finishes all year (5th in AOY I think), just needs a few more key bites and he could win it all, whether that's redcrest or a regular season event next year. Quote

flatcreek Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 I was watching yesterday when Stephen Browning got his chatterbait hung up on a log ,trying to pop it loose and all of a sudden a 2 pounder grabs it off the log and swims off with it.He knew he had it going on with a killer bite. 1 Quote
Hawkeye21 Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 I don't know how anyone could not enjoy watching this event. This has been awesome. These guys are hammering the bass and they all seem to be great quality. I can't believe how many bass over 2 pounds they have been catching up there. The river has been fishing great right now. Birge has been crushing it on the topwater bite. Best thing about the river is the diversity of fishing. Deep, shallow, topwater, spinner, chatterbait, flipping, current, backwater, bridges, docks, rocks, trees, largemouth and smallmouth. It's got everything! 3 Quote

Michael Neal is a stud but arguably not the best fisherman in his own family. His uncle Rogne Brown has been one of the most sought after guides on the chick. Catching a 49lb bag will do that. 3 Quote
BassNJake Posted August 23, 2019 Author Posted August 23, 2019 They cut the field to 20 and then split those guys into 2 groups of 10. Ike just got on a school and put a bunch in the boat. Jacob Powroznik is running away with it today. 1 Quote

Seriously, the guy has to be worst at guessing weight all day he has been consistently wrong He must use mono all the time and can never actually feel how big they are... hahahahahahahaaa ? Yesterday, Strader was within a couple ounces on most of his guesses and several times was exact 1 Quote

We had one of the previous cups on, and it was a Ike heavy episode. She got real into it then. Now every time someone on the screen gets hooked, she screams "OMG GIANT". My favorite Ike moment was on Jordan Lake during the 3rd bass pro tour event. Everyone catching 4+, the ONE time they put Ike on TV, he does his big one/giant, and it's barely 2lbs! Had me rolling on the floor laughing, even the hosts made a joke about it. 1 Quote
BassNJake Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 Edwin Evers wins the Redcrest championship !! Great year for him in winning the points championship(AOY) and their biggest event the Redcrest Championship. 4 Quote
BassNJake Posted August 26, 2019 Author Posted August 26, 2019 Let me add that not only did Edwin Evers win the event, he destroyed the competition. He won by 44lbs and 15 ounces He caught 23 fish in 22 minutes in a flurry in the 3rd round to put it away. His weight total of 85-06 was 15-pounds more than the combined totals of the second and third place anglers. In the third period alone, Evers caught 34 bass for a total of 48-08. That alone would have been enough to claim the win today. https://majorleaguefishing.com/bass-pro-tour/by-the-numbers-evers-magical-championship-run-on-pool-7/ 2 Quote
SC53 Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 I’ve nursing a bad back so watched a good bit of the entire tournament. Edwin definitely had a unbelievable day. With only an hour and half left he caught all those fish. He was catching them on every cast for awhile and the best the boat official could do was write them on the scoresheet. Once the dust settled he was able to update the scoretracker. At the broadcast booth, JT Kinney suggested they probably should mute the other competitors when they finally updated, for obvious reason as the comments we probably not G rated. ? It appears they did just that as there wasn’t any response to it for some time. Probably a good call ? 1 Quote
