Drl453 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 So I bought a new curado k and noticed it would have a clicking sound twice every 1 rotation. I pulled it apart and noticed the top drag washer plate has a tiny bit of play around the reel shaft so as it turns it slides down and hits the shaft causing the click. I have like 4 or 5 other shimanos and never had this issue. Anyway to remedy this? Or should I just send it back. I’m assuming the hole in the plate was just cut too big by mistake. Thanks Quote

Super User FishTank Posted August 18, 2019 Super User Posted August 18, 2019 If you can, i would return it and get a new one. My K has been super smooth so far. 1 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted August 18, 2019 Super User Posted August 18, 2019 Like the others have said, send it back if you can. I have 3 200K's and they all work flawlessly. 1 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted August 18, 2019 Super User Posted August 18, 2019 The drag washer having too big a hole wouldn't make it click, it's not free floating in there. But if it's new , yeah send it back. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Hard to tell how the key washer on top of the drag in the drive gear would make that noise, but my first Curado K did have a badly deformed hole in it. The opening, which fits on the drive shaft, are stamped out by machine and I guess it got caddy wampass in the machine when its turn came. I sent it to Shimano and they quickly returned a new one at no charge. Quote
