I got a LiveTarget Bluegill lipless a number of years ago from somewhere (B.A.S.S., or LTB, or MTB probably.)

I've made fun of LiveTarget lures on here before, especially the baitball things.  (I have praised the LiveTarget Smelt jerkbaits, though.)

So, I wanted to give credit where credit is due -- I fished the lipless Bluegill for the first time last weekend and this past weekend and over the three days out, it was the best producer of anything I threw.  Casts like a dream, swims with a great natural looking (to me) wiggle....wobbles on the drop and flat out catches bass (and crappie.)    I never fished lipless much in deep forested water before for fear of losing them.  This one deflects extremely well.  Hooks were crap, but Ill fix that.  Looks like they aren't cheap, but I'll be getting a back up or three.

Good to hear. I’ve never jumped on board with the LiveTarget stuff much. Hard for me to find a guy that carries a good selection locally.

I started fishing their crawfish jigs yesterday for the first time. I didn’t have a stellar debut but did have bumps/hits/strikes. I’m gonna stick with it on these jigs. I have to make them work. They were not ignored. That’s the plus. A co-worker gave me a name of a shop sort of local to me and mentioned they Had a lot of LiveTarget. Would like to try one of their crankbait craws also. Good luck.

Possibly coincidence, but I used to fish a pond in OKC all the time in college and the biggest fish I ever caught out of that pond came on the first day I ever threw the livetarget lipless bluegill

Had a guy give me a bunch of cranks, most of which I didn't bother putting new hooks on.  Three of them were LiveTargets in bluegill patterns.  I keep one tied on every time for targeting that 6ft.+ depth. No need for cover to be present, it darts and dives with the slightest twitch and will flat out catch them if they're holding at those depths.

Haven't tried the lipless, but I don't often throw them. Heck, I still have a couple of DiamonShads I've had for a loooong time.

Koppers certainly puts a realistic looking paint job on one.  Traps aren't my favorite baits, and these are more than twice what a Rat-L Trap or Red Eye Shad cost, but if I see them on sale, I'll get one or two.  It might give a little more confidence in this bait if I could get some consistent bites.
