Timberwolf530 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 The shape of this worm has me really excited to try them on a Neko and Shaky Head. I just placed an order for some at T.W. today. Anyone tried these yet? What's your take on them? Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted August 7, 2019 Super User Posted August 7, 2019 This is about as "over-the-top" an effort to separate an angler from his money that I've seen in a great while... Buy a 7" trick worm; cut it to any length you'd like to fish and rig it on a jig head, texas-rig it, shakey head it, wacky rig it, Neko rig it, drop-shot it... man, anyway you want to fish it! oe Quote

The cost is right about in the middle of the plastic worm market. The shape is quite a bit different than a trick worm, so the action is going to be different as well. It's fine if you like trick worms. I do too. Been fishing them forever, but I'm also not going to discount something new because............I'm not sure why. Lure companies come out with new products every year. Are they all rip-offs, or just this one? Did lure development stop with the Trick Worm? IMO, No. I'm not sure how you condemn something you haven't tried, but I choose to keep an open mind and see for myself if new things work or not. If I didn't, I'd still be using River Runts & Creek Chubs on 5' long metal poles with braided nylon line. 1 Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted August 7, 2019 Super User Posted August 7, 2019 I apologize for the subtlety of my response. When you asked in your thread opener what's my take on them, I assumed you wanted my opinion not merely to encourage your excitement. I'll try again... I don't think this worm will provide a single thing to catch a bass that any other similar sized worm already available won't do. oe Quote
Russ E Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 I would have to agree with @OkobojiEagle .It will probably catch fish, but it looks like a problem looking for a solution. I do like Berkley baits but this one looks like a sales gimmick ,more than an innovation. Get IKE to promote it and make money. 1 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted August 7, 2019 Super User Posted August 7, 2019 After checking it out it is something I wouldn't spend my money on. There are too many much better worm choices out there that I would take over that one. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted August 8, 2019 Super User Posted August 8, 2019 They look cool - a slightly different design - I'd buy some except that I'm on a self imposed ban - I shouldn't buy any more soft plastics for a while. Sooner or later the motivation for the ban will dissipate and I'll purchase more soft plastics. So I'll probably get some - but not in the near future. 1 Quote
