Super User MickD Posted August 9, 2019 Super User Posted August 9, 2019 Regarding leader specs, I do not recommend anything lighter than 8 because I've never found an 6 that was not to fragile. Most of the time I use 12. I see no need, even in clear water, for anything lighter exc for spybaits. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted August 9, 2019 Super User Posted August 9, 2019 Leader diameter can change the drop speed, as well as, help regulate the speed/depth at which a lighter lure can be retrieved. A 12lb mono leader will significantly slow the drop speed of a 3/32oz hair jig and allow you to almost suspend it in the water column, where as a 4lb leader will allow the same jig to be livelier and retrieved at a quicker tempo. It's about fine tuning your presentation and that can make a huge difference. oe 1 Quote
ike8120 Posted August 12, 2019 Author Posted August 12, 2019 Just like to report back that the KK 10# braid and 8# Segaur FC leader and the Alberto knot worked just fine. Nice casting and was able to feel the NED rig without any problem. Thank you for everyone's input. Quote
