LEWITH Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Looking to buy a Diawa Legalis LT with my 7’1” medium spinning rod. I’ll be using it for jigworm and dropshot primarily with s little wacky rig. What size do you recommend 2500 or 3000? thanks lew Quote
mrpao Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 The main difference is the spool size. The really weight almost the same. Also the 3000 has the T knob not the I knob. Personally I prefer the T knob but alot of people like the I knob better. Quote
GeekOutdoors Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 I think the 2500 model is a tad lighter and has an higher ratio so I'd go with it. Quote
The Bassman Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 I have a Fuego 2500 and 3000LT. Actually prefer the 3000 with the slower ratio. The reel feels a bit freer. IPT is still over 30" because of the larger spool. Quote
fin Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 The 2500 is the only one available with the higher gear ratio. http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/reels/legalislt/index.html Quote
drscholl14 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 I've got two of the 3000s. Love em. It is the slower gear ratio but I've had no problems keeping them hooked or catching up to a fish that swims towards me while fighting it. Quote
