I am deciding on buying the Shimano Curado 200 K in the 6.2:1 gear ratio. I was going to make it my cranking reel but it seems like really it is meant for throwing mono and braid. Can I throw fluoro on it? I just want to make sure before purchasing.

I could be wrong but I don’t think the reel cares what line you put on for most bass fishing applications including fluorocarbon.

When I got mine, I asked it what kind of line it preferred. It didn't say a word. I assume it has no preference.

Yes.  Just run your spool tension knob a little tighter than you would with mono or braid.

Yes, any reel designed for freshwater/bass fishing is suitable for braid, mono, or fluoro.

If you can't honestly and openly communicate with your Curado K, set a role for it and give it a sense of purpose,  - maybe you're not a real Shimano guy.  I have one and it is happy with 20 lb Abrazx - I told it that, never mind it being new,  if it was going to get off the bench and make the traveling team, it was going to start on the Biffle Bug rig - and 20 lb Abrazx was necessary.  It said ok with no complaints - just happy to make the squad I guess.  Your results may differ.

The responses here are hilarious.

@BassBlowup354 as you can see, most reels can throw any line, within reason.  You'll be fine with 12-20# fluoro.  2# or 100# would not work so well.

Well, I have three K's and two are  spooled with 15lb Invizx flouro and one is spooled with 12lb mono since they came out of the box.  All three are 8.5:1.
