Is Flouro more important on chatterbait/spinnerbait combo OR crankbait rod

So i quit buying fluorocarbon but was given a pack of 15 lb INVISX...enough for one rod only...should i put it on my dedicated crankbait rod OR put it on a rod that is for both spinnerbaits and crankbaits?  Just wondered where it is more beneficial...

I wouldn't put it on either of them. Mono or copolymer works better for all those baits IMO and is cheaper than fluoro. Fluorocarbon is for sinking, bottom contact baits and leader material only in my boat.

I second that motion. Yes you can use it but it would better serve you as bluebasse86 stated.

x3...I don't even use fluoro for my soft plastics and jigs but at least there an argument can be made to do so.

Fluorocarbon is best for bottom contact, monofilament for treble hooks.

For me that's Seaguar Tatsu and Sunline Armilo.

   Man, can'tcha just feel the love in this room?  ?  I use InvizX on squarebills and shallow-to-medium divers. The reason is simple: I use fluoro on inline spinners and erratic-retrieve spoons, because it resists twist pretty well. Those same places are the places I use squarebills and medium divers. So I didn't plan on using fluoro for cranks, it just worked out that way. Now that I see how well it works, I plan on continuing to use it. I use 12 lb., though.  Might use 15 in the future. Dunno.   jj

I agree with @Bluebasser86 except I would specifically state that deep diving crankbaits are part of the list for fluoro applications.  However, in the OP's particular case, I would not use 15 lb fluoro for a deep diver due to its thickness.  I use 10 lb and will even drop to 8 for deep crankbaiting.

Gotta give the love to Invisx.  That's about all I use for fluoro.  I have picked up a few odd spools now and then to try others but haven't found anything I like as well.

I use flouro for most everything and have been for years. 

I don't have the problems with it as a lot folks on this board seem to have and are quick to point out. 

Like most things it's personal preference. 

 

Again, personally speaking I don't use InvisX because of its stretch, which is close to what mono has. 

So to answer your question, If I had to I would use what you have for both spinnerbaits/chatterbaits and for shallow running cranks. 

However, If you just don't want to use it a quality copoly would be an option.

Another vote for putting it on the multipurpose rod spbait/crank. I’m around 90% fluoro on my bait casters, and 10% braid. Don’t think I have a single one spooled with mono/copoly anymore. Do have 1 crappie rod with mono on it if that counts, but it’s spinning - lol.

FWIW, I use mono for topwaters and spinning reels. Bait casters for sinking, spinner/chatter and cranks is fluoro. Brands Invisx and Tatsu for Fluoro. Sunline Defier Amrilo or shooter for Mono. Power pro for braid. Just my personal preference.

If it's a general purpose rod, I spool up with 15# Invisx.  That would be around 20 or so set ups that currently own, and they are are various medium, medium heavy, heavy, fast or x-fast rods.  My drop shot rods all have 6# Tatsu on them, except one that has 15# braid 8# Blue Label leader.  My deep cranking rods have 10# Tatsu.  Any jig rods that I use in heavy weeds have 50# braid.  My topwater/jerkbait rod has 30# Tuf-Line Supercast.  My swimbait rods have 20# CXX.  The "specialized" rigs listed comprise a much smaller set of tools.  If I don't need anything special on a rod, then I'll use 15# Invisx.

Fluoro on spinnerbaits and chatterbaits for me always.  Mono for cranking and topwaters only.  I strongly disagree that mono is better for everything except bottom contact lures. Each to their own tho that's why we have so many options

To each his own, I prefer the stretch of mono for all reaction baits. Fluoro is good for Texas rigs and jigs,  but to be honest braid handles better and I personally don’t think the bass can see it around grass.

i tend to use mono for moving baits because some of those rods get used for topwater too.
