I did a search and nothing came up for Ned Rig?!?

I fish some pretty pressured ponds and gave in to the midwest finesse. Anyone else having any luck with the ned rig bank fishing? So far I have only caught one dink on the craw trd and finesse bullet, but that was sight fishing the little guy.

Oh yea. Open water flats, points, creek mouths, just hop it along and be patient. I’ve caught 5-6 lb fish on the ned rig.

I caught 2 this weekend on a TRD Crawz.  The problem I had was keeping the perch off of the bait.  They attack those!!

Search function doesn’t like 3 letter words - Lol. There is a ton of posts on everything Ned. Buddy and I caught a bunch on Ned and Sliders this weekend. Ned/Slider/Wacky covers 80-90% of my bank fishing these days. Works great!

Caught a ton on a Ned rig, but unless I'm misreading your post are you adding an extra weight T-rig style above the jighead? If so that could be your problem...the mushroom style jighead alone paired with the TRD will sit naturally in a mostly vertical position, twitch your rod tip and it looks like a little baitfish feeding on the bottom, never having added weight in addition I don't know for sure how it affects the action, but I've never found it necessary to add any myself...might try it without and see if you have any better luck.

Have had ton of success using a Ned rig from a boat or kayak.  Only have caught one from the bank.

Great for when the bite is tough. It is tough for me, as I love to use search baits, but when nothing else works the Ned can be the ticket.

He is using one of these https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Z-Man_Finesse_Bulletz_Weedless_Jigheads_3pk/descpage-ZMFB.html .  This is a type of weighted hook that allows you to move a bait on the bottom in bodies of water with extremely rocky substrate.  These are used a lot by river smallmouth anglers because it doesn't get hung as much as a traditional jig head. Most use the Confidences Baits Draggin heads or River Rock Baits Crawler heads as the finesse bulletz only came out a year ago.

Ned is not a magic lure, if there is no fish where you fish, Ned isn’t gonna help. Also try different retrieves, slow drag, lift and drop, small hop or swim it a long the bottom.

I have had great success with Ned Rig and the big TRD but not the regular and especially with the craw color (zero fish so far). My favorite color so far has been good old green pumpkin.  I have fished it from a boat, the bank and from a kayak.  I have used it with both bait casting and spinning gear, 12lb and 6lb FC line respectively.

No extra weight. Was using the Zman finesse bullet which essentially is a t rig. The open hook mushroom jig was getting caught up alot in submerged grass and weeds, even the one with the weed guard. Thanks!

The search tool main page upper right corner type in "Ned rig" and 2,533 replies come up.

There are two search function boxes, both in the upper right corner of the screen. The larger one just above the forums I believe only searches the forums and returns nothing for any 3 letter search (“Ned”, “rig”, “Ned rig”). It did return something like 17 results for the 6 letter “nedrig” - no spaces used.

 

There is a much smaller and less obvious search box far up in the right corner near the very top of the screen that appears to search the entire site, not just forums specifically, that will return a bunch of results as WRB mentioned if you search “Ned rig”. A little confusing, and small enough that I don’t think I ever saw or used that one before, as it doesn’t even show on my phone, only my larger home computer screen.

Very rarely visit the site using a computer, so I guess I am out of luck finding this mystery search bar with my phone.

Confirmed that it doesn't work on the mobile site.  You can run the desktop site on a phone in chrome browser
