I’m planning on switching to braid for finesse fishing. There is a million colors and I am puzzled as to which one to pick. Any input?

Moss green Power Pro is very common, I run this braid and use a flouro leader on almost every one of my setups.

Moss green is my favorite but if you plan on throwing any weightless senkos or finesse worms, a hi-vis color could be nice for line watching.

I would choose the brightest color, either yellow or bright green.

Use a leader and then you can also watch your line.

Thank me later :)

Seaguar smackdown 15lb

That line lay though

I can tell you from experience that these guys are right on. YOU WILL SEE THE HIT BEFORE YOU FEEL IT!    jj

Original Power Pro in 10lb yellow! It’s so versatile. I use it for so many techniques. I also love 8lb PP with 8lb red label for ned rigs......

I have braid on my gear ranging from yellow, blue, green and brown. Honestly, the Timber Brown is probably my favorite from Power Pro Super Slick.

I don’t give as much thought for braid on a spinning set-up as I do on bait casters.  10 pound is the norm for me and I have gone from low vis to high vis.  Gamma holds color very well.  832 will fade slightly but lays down well. Smack down is awesome and PP is available everywhere.

Any of these will be great. I've used spiderwire stealth in green for years with no issues. Buddy uses power pro. I cant say one seems any better or worse.  I've never tried the high vis although I may next time I spool some.

I can't even imagine using anything over 10 lbs. braid on a finesse-intended spinning reel and light to medium rod.

Even better, drop down to 6 lbs. Sufix Nanobraid . . . if you run straight braid without a leader. With a leader, I almost always pair 10 lbs. braid with 8 lbs. Invizx fluorocarbon. The two "fit" each other pretty well, tie well. I don't want too small a diameter braid when I tie on a leader.

I've never had a fish, any fish, break off 2 lbs. Sufix Nanobraid. With 6 lbs. test? If you use a spinning rod and reel as intended, you could land a whale.

Sufix 832 in yellow or neon lime. Skip the leader and color the last 8 feet with a permanent black marker. It will turn stealth gray.i use 20 lb on a Ned rig and catch plenty of fish.

I've done well with Fins Windtamer 4 and 6 in pink. Supposed to be low vis underwater but the fish haven't told me one way or the other.

You still run a leader correct?

Yes.

The #1 reason is to be able to break off when needed.

I would recommend filling your spool with as much line as possible. Finesse fishing works better with a full spool.

One of the best ways to make sure you get wind knots and birds nests on a spinning reel is to overfill the spool.  Not too sure why finesse fishing would work better with a full spool either. I’d like to hear the reasoning behind that.

That’s true. I meant on a baitcaster.

I tried out some 30# seaguar in stealth grey and it was the absolute worst line I have ever used. It did nothing but break from the very first cast and continue to fray.

That's strange, I have several reels spooled with Smackdown from 50 down to 10, including one with 10lb Stealth Grey. I can't recall ever breaking it and fraying has never been an issue.
