Super User FryDog62 Posted July 26, 2019 Super User Posted July 26, 2019 “The line’s inherent qualities and exclusive G2 Precision Winding™ make this fluorocarbon virtually memory-free.” Fluorocarbon and memory-free in the same sentence = Oxymoron Could it be true ?!? Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted July 26, 2019 Super User Posted July 26, 2019 I'd be willing to try it. Quote

Super User Chris at Tech Posted July 27, 2019 Super User Posted July 27, 2019 We've spent years listening to the pros tell us that fluoro has next to no stretch, and we know that's crap so I'm gonna chalk this up to marketing. With that said, I really like Sufix mono so for that reason alone I may try their fluoro Quote

OnthePotomac Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 I do not have any Sufix fluorocarbon, but do know that they are still level winding their bulk spools. I have been using Invizx 15lb and the last 1000yd spool is not level wound. I mention it because it is important to some anglers that the spools be level wound and I really don't care whether it is or not. I have not had a problem spooling my reels from a product spool which is not level wound. 1 Quote
Super User islandbass Posted July 28, 2019 Super User Posted July 28, 2019 Memory free on their spool will probably mean it won’t be memory free on yours... unless I suppose you wind it on your spool the same way, lol. IMHO, excellent marketing strong enough to get anglers to bite (I like sufix line btw). ? I’m with you - oxymoron Quote
dave Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 I have never used Fluoro. I have seen the test results on stretch. Yes it stretches just as much as mono. I have read though that it takes more effort to stretch than mono. I was going to grab a spool of Seaguar Tatsu to test that theory. (go big or go home!) Quote

Super User Team9nine Posted July 29, 2019 Super User Posted July 29, 2019 Funny this got brought up. Had a friend ask me last night about this exact line and whether Wheeler was using it during the Championship that aired this weekend. So I texted Jacob, and this was his reply: “Yep, that's exactly what I was using. It is no joke some of the best fluorocarbon on the market.” Probably worth a try on that comment alone. I’m 90% fluoro on all my bait casters and don’t see the memory issue as being any worse than some monos though. 2 Quote

Ha, whose Jacob Wheeler anyway LOL, I had already ordered some up for August when it’s in stock, but Jacob’s comments certainly don’t hurt! 1 Quote

Bring the labels "waterproof" vs. "water-resistant" to mind. Pretty much all line manufacturers label lines as memory-resistant, but none are memory-proof. I'll still likely get a spool to try. Sufix makes some excellent braid and mono, so I doubt this will be a total dud. 1 Quote
Efishin Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 I am very interested to try the Suffix fluorocarbon! I'm going to go get some. Quote

Me either. By “normal guy “ I meant they don’t possess mystical powers supernatural ability or all knowing insight. I listen to what they have to say and weigh it against my own experience. I agree, it’s not just with fluorocarbon line, it’s with all gear. Any time sponsors are in the mix real opinions go out the window. Quote
Dirtyeggroll Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Anyone had a chance to try this line yet? Quote
Sloppy Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 I am going to pick some up on Thursday and try it. Diameters look OK, just wish they would bump up the yardage from 200 to 300 to get a couple spools out of it. Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 8, 2019 Super User Posted October 8, 2019 What happens to precision wound after it's spooled on your reel! Ask Wheeler how long he leaves FC line spooled on his tournament reels. Tom Quote
