BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 21, 2019 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 21, 2019 Here's a first look at the new MotorGuide Tour Pro trolling motor! What do you guys think? 1 Quote
Super User senile1 Posted July 21, 2019 Super User Posted July 21, 2019 Thanks, Glenn. That was an excellent question about the fit under current boat covers. I was surprised Mike didn't talk about the compatibility with Lowrance, Humminbird, and Garmin fish finders. I was set to pull the trigger on an Ultrex and then heard about all the new motors coming out at ICAST so I decided to wait and check them out. Since I have the first generation Garmin Echomap 9sv's on my boat I am looking strongly at this MotorGuide. I love its price compared to the Garmin, though the Garmin looks to be the top of the line from what I have seen. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 22, 2019 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 22, 2019 Yes, the Garmin is feature-packed. It's also the best at integrating with the Garmin fish finders. That review is coming real soon. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 I have been reading that using the TM in brackish water will void the warranty. Can this be confirmed yea or nay? Quote
Wim Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Hello, any of you know if the Motorguide Tour Pro is both with cable and remote steering? Or only cable steering -and anchor done by remote? And when is the longer version available? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 19, 2020 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 19, 2020 It is power-assisted cable steering. They work in tandem. However if the electric motor fails, you can still steer it. Still no word on the longer version, but I think the goal was to have it out by March. Quote

Expand Did you say when these came out there was another brand coming out by the end of the year? Any word on what happened? Quote

Expand I could be wrong, I thought you said by the end of 2019. Wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong though. *edit* I just did some digging and found your post and it said “stay tuned” regarding a new competitor. So you were right and once again I was wrong. Power Pole rumors have been out for a couple years. What’s another decade waiting for them? Edited January 20, 2020 by 12poundbass Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 20, 2020 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 20, 2020 Even though I'm privy to what's going on, I'm not going to divulge any information because I don't feel it's my place to steal somebody's thunder. Maybe other people think it's ok to do that, but that's not how I roll. Quote
