Awesome!  My wife will occasionally drop a line but I have almost given up on it.......and now that the grandkids are older, it's a loosing battle.

My advice is to make sure you do everything you can to support her getting to enjoy fishing.  Then you two can take some pretty great vacations in the tropics and combine fishing with regular getaway vacations.  She'll be thrilled to see how hard most salt species fight.  Bahamas is really good for combining fishing and sun/water/etc.

That’s the hope... I give her a lot of credit - she very willingly took care of our 3 kids many times when I went off with my dad or buddies on numerous fishing trips.

Now the nest is empty, so hopefully more of she and I getting out.  Always a good sign when she actually asked to go and talked a little trash on the boat as she out-fished me ;)

First time I got her out on the “PVB.” She had mixed feelings at the time when I bought it while paying for 3 kids in college... but she raved about it last night...

Progress..!

That's a couple of quality bass too!  Nice work.

She caught a couple great fish... I cracked up when I told her she could use any lure she wanted... And she picked a pink Caffeine Shad because it matched her lipstick... but I can’t argue with the results!

Congratulations @FryDog62 to Mrs FryDog on a couple of extremely solid fish! Looks like you may have found a ringer of a tournament partner.

When I have asked Mrs B to go fishing, she’d replied “I landed the biggest fish of my life over 30 years ago, what more do I have to prove?”  At that point what more can I say lol...

I didn’t get my wife fishing for 25 years - and now she’s asking to go!

Got out again tonight and she catches a 5+ pounder... and is like: “That’s pretty good isn’t it??”

Why is it that they always out fish us?

I always tell myself it's because I'm a good guide .. hahaha

I’m a good guide too. I put my MIL on her first bass that went 4-8, my son on his PB pike all last weekend. I’ve put my wife on more fish than me every year for the last 14. @slonezp says my whole family is better than me at fishing, I say I’m a great guide. It wouldn’t be fun to catch all the bass. ?

Can anyone believe she’s Brock Lesnar’s cousin?

1/3 his size, but I can assure you on the right day she could kick his arse...!

I too have become a guide with new people & kids going out.  I cast constantly in a rapid circle around the anchored boat. Reason ? My double blade spinner & sinking Rapala have no hooks on them.  I draw the fish in to be caught. Gets hectic. But I love it.
