Take care of yourself, take care of each other.

I've already gone through all my cold compresses and that's just from night fishing. Going out to buy more. (I use them on the back of my neck.)

I have been swimming about once every couple hours here recently, it sure helps. Until that pesky flesh eating bacteria gets on you......

Thanks for posting this.

My son had a bout of this yesterday, here in NY.

Last week we were in 100+ heat index Florida and he was Ok because I made sure he stayed cool and hydrated.

Heat Index through Saturday. Heat can kill, especially us "old" folks.

I went too long without drinking anything during a hot guide trip last Friday. Took a big drink of really cold water and had to drop to a knee to keep from falling over. It can happen fast, and I know better than to go very long without drinking water when it's this hot out, but even a hour can be too long when it's pushing triple digits.

The real danger with heat injuries is that the victim usually doesn’t sense the signs/symptoms. If/when they do, it’s usually too late, and the victim is already incapable of helping himself. Take the precautions! Fish with a partner if you can!
