garyg199 Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 I watched this video by "Debos Fishing" and he showed this jig and I wanna know what it is. For some reason I cannot find the video now. I'm almost positive it was that channel . It was some sort of jig, possibly a swimjig but the skirt was made out of some sort of soft plastic bait type material. Almost like small tentacles. I know regular jigs may be similar, but this was different. It was the typical think strands. I looked on tackle warehouse and the closest thing I could find were the Jackall brand with the zig zag skirts. The one I'm talking about had a skirt that looked like actual creature bait material. Hopefully that makes sense. If anyone knows what I'm talking about let me know. Sorry I can't even find a picture of what I'm talking about. Quote
Super User WRB Posted July 12, 2019 Super User Posted July 12, 2019 Best guess is a spider jig, Yamamoto Hula grub or maybe a Cabin Creek spider. Tom Quote
garyg199 Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 None of the above sir. Regular ole jig with a very cool skirt. Thick rubbery tentacle skirt deal Quote
Super User WRB Posted July 12, 2019 Super User Posted July 12, 2019 Hmmmm, living rubber skirt like a Skinny Bear? Vintage Tarantula jig? Tom Quote

Super User smalljaw67 Posted July 12, 2019 Super User Posted July 12, 2019 Unfortunately without a link or picture nobody is going to be able to provide you any real help. The reason being is there are a lot of different jigs and skirts on the market and it could even be something someone put together so without a visual aid it will be almost impossible to find with your description. I was kind of thinking it might be something like the old Northland Jungle jig or maybe it is one of the old vinyl skirts but you need to find the video to get an answer. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted July 12, 2019 Super User Posted July 12, 2019 I haven't seen a jig that comes standard that way, but in addition to the spyder, hula, and other similar plastics mentioned above, I have seen just the skirt before, don't recall who made it though. Quote

onthewater102 Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 I have a mold that makes what you're describing, a skirt with a ring in the center (easily threaded onto a jig) made of soft plastic like any creature bait. Here's a bait I made with the skirting in question attached to the back end of an HD crayfish, but I make the skirt section separate first: Here's another with a ruler in the photo for scale: Quote
