Over half the bass over 6lb. that I caught last season were caught on 6in-8in. paddle tail swimbaits.

I don't know if they tend to catch bigger fish, but they are what I use when I have a spot zeroed in.

As for hard swimbaits, I can not say as the only ones I own/use are for muskie.

I catch a lot of big bluegill and other panfish with 3/4" swimbaits...

Not always, I’ve caught plenty of small bass on 6-12” swimbaits, though they can weed out some of the little guys. Just don’t get too hung up on the swimbaits only thing, let the fish tell you want they want. You might want to throw a swimbait, but you can’t force the bign’s to eat it

 

Your 3/4oz bluegill isn’t very big anyway and should do well on all size bass, especially if they are feeding on gills

3/4 oz would be a small 3 1/2" to 5" soft  paddle tail on a keel weighted hook?

Bigger bass tend to target bluegill during the bluegill spawn to early summer for about a month or until the eccosystem is full of young of the year fish species.

4"-5"  bluegill swim and wake baits like Matt Lures and Huddleston Hudgill are heavier lures with wider profile in the 1 1/2 oz to 2 oz sizes work good.

The hard bill gill swimbaits are heavier and require specific Swimbait rods.

I’ve caught bluegills on swimbaits that were close to the size of the bluegill. My guess is that the bluegill wasn’t trying to eat the swimbait with that tiny mouth but was nipping at the fin of the intruder and ended up on the hook.

I catch lots of fish on a 7" Slammer and a majority of them are 1.5-3 pounds. 2 of several from this morning.

Did you mistype that 3/4"?  The's the size of a crappie jig, which will probably catch bass of any size, if they're in the mood.  I throw what is considered small to medium swimbaits and can confirm they catch bass of all sizes, including smallmouth, which seem to love the 6" Spro BBZ Trout.

I think he meant 3 OR 4 inch.  I could be wrong though...

He's probably Canadian and meant 3/4 of a meter.  So yes that 2 foot swimbait will work great on real big bass.

I'm guessing he meant 3/4oz. I don't know of anyone that makes a 3/4" bluegill bait, would be almost impossible to get any kind of swimming motion out of it.

Those little guys catch fish of all sizes, even big crappie and other panfish. I haven't seen any bigger fish taken on the smaller Storm bluegills.
