smithy97 Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 Hey everyone, I'm looking for some feedback on the new gen Levante Perfect Pitch. I'm in need of another froggin setup. I have the new gen Levante Jerkbait Special and absolutely love it, so I'm considering the PP. How does the rod load a 1/2oz frog? Does the tip have enough give to walk a frog? Is there enough power to horse fish out of cover and boat flip them (5lb fish and less up here)? Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks Quote
NathanDLTH Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 Have an Orochi XXX F7-70X Destruction (JDM) model and it’s phenomenal for frogs and bigger baits. I think the model you’re looking at would do you credibly, only other rod I’d seriously look at in the $200ish range would be the ALX toadface mh+ and guys love it. Also the Tatula elite models 7’1H and 7’3H would do you well too. Quote
bunz559 Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Thinking of picking one up for frogging as well. Quote
Dens228 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 I have one that a purchased a few weeks ago for jigs. I use it for my frog rod now. I loved it for jigs but really love it for frogs. Quote
smithy97 Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 Thanks for the feedback guys...I plan on picking one up and pairing it with a Curado K 8:1. Should be a deadly combo. Once I have it I'll post my thoughts on it. Keep up with any feedback you have! Quote
newyorktoiowa57 Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 I am planning to pick this model up for the same purposes soon. Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted July 15, 2019 Super User Posted July 15, 2019 Megabass themselves highly recommend the Perfect Pitch for froggin'. Quote
Westcoast Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 I’ve been using the levente perfect pitch for throwing frogs this summer. It’s a little lighter action than what I was previously using so it’s great at tossing the lighter frogs but it still has the power to get the fish outta the grass. Quote

Super User fishballer06 Posted July 25, 2019 Super User Posted July 25, 2019 I don't own this rod, but I have researched it in the past and I remember Chris Zaldain saying that he uses a Perfect Pitch for frogging. Quote
smithy97 Posted July 26, 2019 Author Posted July 26, 2019 Good to know! And yes, its an expensive hobby, and I like to set aside a bit of cash here and there until it's enough to buy a new combo. If I didn't do it that way, I'd be broke and have 1000 combos haha 1 Quote
newyorktoiowa57 Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 The levante would look sick with a JDM steez A xh. The purple accents would look sweet together. Quote

You read my mind! I love my MB rods and can't recommend them enough to my friends. Great company that produces great rods. Quote

Great company that produces great rods. Are you thinking of getting the same combo? I am looking for a more powerful frog rod, and am down to the Expride 72H, Adrena 72H, and Levante PP. The reel will either be a metanium XG with a brass gear swap or JDM steez Xh, or a Bantum MGL XG. I would probably swap the knobs on the steez though. Quote
