Looking at getting a dedicated Ned rig setup. Would like to stick with Duckett rods but not too sure of my options. Only the Micro Magic line has a ML/F and then rest of the lines have a M/F. Opinions on ML vs M for Ned rig. Thanks.

Definitely would go with a medium light.  Personally I've been using a 7' medium light St Croix Eyecon rod with a 30 size Pflueger supreme.  10lb hi vis braid with 6lb fluorocarbon leader

Medium will work, tried the M/L and went back to the Medium. I use the Lews Custom Speed Stick, don't know nothing about the Duckett rods. I believe Ned even uses some Medium rods. The key is setting the drag.

ML for sure. A M doesn't always cast the bait as well and I've ripped those tiny hooks out more times than I care to remember using a M.

I've also had a lot more fish come unpinned in general due to the stiffer rod. A ML keeps a better bend and keeps the fish on. A M is better suited for big Ned's but at that point is it really even a Ned?
