Super User scaleface Posted July 5, 2019 Super User Posted July 5, 2019 I have fifty dollars worth of points on Amazon. What baitcasting reel would you redeem fifty bucks for ? I could get a Diawa Fuego for 25 dollars . Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted July 5, 2019 Super User Posted July 5, 2019 What do you plan to use it for? My reels are bought and used based on the intended technique I plan to use the reel for. 2 Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted July 5, 2019 Super User Posted July 5, 2019 Tatula, SLX, Lew's Mach 1, Abu Revo S, would all be very serviceable for your needs. 1 Quote
Russ E Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 I have owned all of those except the slx. I have used the slx, so I will add it to the list. they are all functional, but this is how I would rate them: 1: tatula 2: fuego 3: slx 4: revo s 5: mach 1 While it is usually a little more expensive the Tatula is far superior to the others in my opinion. The magforce z brake is worth the extra money. the fuego is close to a tatula. maybe just a little less refined I have only uses an slx a couple times, but it felt like a solid reel. The revo s is not bad, but you can often get an SX on sale for about the same price. it is a much better reel. In my opinion the mach 1 is Lews version of the abu silver max. I own 2 that collect dust in my spare parts compartment. 1 Quote
Glaucus Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Some Fuegos are $75 on Amazon. With $50 off you basically get to steal it. 19 minutes ago, Russ E said: I have owned all of those except the slx. I do like the BB1. 1 Quote

Shimano_1 Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 I'd go with the slx or lews tournament mb. The daiwas are fine reels but they're too big, location of the brake dial is a no go for me, and not a fan of the t wing. The revo sx is also a fine reel. Love my slx reels tho lol Quote
Super User FishTank Posted July 6, 2019 Super User Posted July 6, 2019 Curado DC. Works for everything. Quote
Matt_3479 Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 I would get another chronarch mgl or another bantam mgl Quote

Super User Hammer 4 Posted July 6, 2019 Super User Posted July 6, 2019 Tatula 150..just for increase in line capacity. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 6, 2019 Global Moderator Posted July 6, 2019 My last 3 reel baitcaster purchases have been a Tatula 100, Tatula SV TW 103HS, and a Tatula 150. If I had $50 off, I'd be adding another Tatula. 2 Quote

I can afford any of them but love a good deal . I could get the fuego for 25 dollars , with 30 per cent off coupon and fifty dollars off I can get a KastKing Speed demon for free . 1 Quote

LonnieP Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 I’d get one of the Tatulas or a Zillion depending on how much extra money I had to spend. If money was tight I’d definitely get the Fuego for $25. 3 Quote
keagbassr Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Id say anything shimano. However looks like Amazon has the mb for $95. Less the 50 thats pretty good bang for the buck. 1 Quote

It works well with heavier baits. I own one speed demon and one speed demon pro. They do pickup a lot of line in a hurry. One is used for whopper ploppers and frogs. The other is used for Carolina rigs. If you want to cast light baits the Fuego will do a better job. 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted July 6, 2019 Super User Posted July 6, 2019 Given my experiences with them - a Fuego CT for $50 or less...or a President for almost free. 1 Quote

I do love my Daiwas so either would work for me. 1 Quote
Trappernewt Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 This site costs me a pile of money. I was just reading this thread and thought “Man I have a new rod coming and $45 worth of amazon dollars to spend. A Fuego for $30 sounds like a great idea!!” I need to take a break from Bass Resource!! 2 Quote
