EWREX Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Anyone have experience with the Rage line? Specifically spinning. I'd like some input as I can grab a mint 6'10 medium for pretty cheap on the marketplace Thanks! Quote
Stephen B Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Owned one previously but wasn't a huge fan of the handle. Sold it to a buddy. 1 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted July 2, 2019 Super User Posted July 2, 2019 ^ That's what it comes down to. Seems you either like the neoprene or you hate it. No question the blanks are great. I have not handled spinning Rage rods. But I love my 7'1" MF Rage casting rod. 1 1 Quote
Super User Scott F Posted July 2, 2019 Super User Posted July 2, 2019 How much is “pretty cheap”? When St. Croix discontinued them, they sold them of pretty cheap, I got mine new from the store in Park Falls, for less than $70. Quote

Allen Der Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 I have the same rod and I find the reel seat uncomfortable unless I choke up on it with 3 fingers in front. I would handle it first to see if you like it. The casting rods are great though 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 3, 2019 Global Moderator Posted July 3, 2019 I liked the rod and the handle, but every one I had, the reel seat came loose during normal use. 1 2 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted July 3, 2019 Super User Posted July 3, 2019 I have three of them. My 2 spinning rods have broken guides so they are awaiting for me to send them back to be repaired but my casting rod is still in the quiver for use. I do really like them and the reel set never was an issue for me. The guides are somewhat fragile but not too bad. I figured out why mine were breaking though and it was totally user error in how I was traveling with them in my kayak. I am gonna send mine back to be repaired for sure. Good rods and for $80 it is a good deal. I don't think you will find another rod better for that kind of money out there. Quote
