Rpratt Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 So finally we are having good weather this weekend and I was able to fish. I pull up to my first ramp to put in, and well, the dock was out floating in the middle of the lake. And the people that were there were having difficulties launching. So I turned around and to option 2 just down the road. And here is where I had my experience on the water... I was tossing a DT-6 about 5 feet from the bank and Bam! Got hit! Set the hook and.... Mr. Bass decided to make a run for the bank, jumped out of the water and landed on the bank 2 or 3 feet up it, and flipped around until he spit my hook, which then inconveniently snagged itself on a bush. Mr Bass then just slowly flops down the bank back into water. I have never seen a Bass do anything remotely like that EVER! But I got to wondering as I unsnagged my plug, I wonder if anyone else has seen anything like that or anything near as crazy. 4 3 Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 29, 2019 Super User Posted June 29, 2019 I have seen a bass chase minnows towards the bank and the bass came out of the water and onto the bank, where it flopped around until it got back in the water. I applauded the effort. 1 Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted June 29, 2019 Super User Posted June 29, 2019 Don't think I've had a bass do that. But I did have a steelhead do that. I did have a bass bolt into a muskrat hole along the bank of a pond once. I could see the end of his tail sticking out, and he was too deep to reach. I was using 4lb line and he wouldn't budge. I now know that one can wait em out, until they relax and swim out. But I broke him off. Quote
