DNR shocked up a muskie that measured in just a touch longer than the current world record. They didn't have a scale that could weigh the fish. I knew it wasn't out of the question for a fish like that to be out there but it's crazy knowing that it IS out there. I wonder if the muskie traffic on Mille Lacs is going to get crazy after this news.

Thank you for posting the article. That muskie was a giant measuring 61.5 inches and easily over 60 pounds.

That's a monster. I wonder why they'd be out there sampling fish without a scale big enough to weight a fish like that? Assuming they probably have a 50lb scale, I'm sure they run into fish too big for that on a fairly regular basis.

I saw this in the local Dispatch 2 weeks ago.  Not many bodies of water can say that they proved to have a living world record.
