DRhodes Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Has anyone tried the rapala balsa crank baits. I picked up a few from my local fishing supplier and haven't seen them before. $10 per lure but they seem like quality pieces. Here is a picture. Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 That is one of my choices for river smallmouth. Great performance, which is expected of Rapala. 1 Quote
Big Rick Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 The Brat is a great bait. It runs well and will not blow out. I've caught some good fish on it. 1 Quote
GReb Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 They catch fish. Seem to run more in the 4 foot range than 6. I’ve had good results with the Brat in lakes where lot of folks throw squarebills. Brat has a different profile and action than your SK 1.5s and other popular squarebills 3 Quote
John Lee Pettimore Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 There is a bigger profile brat coming out at ICAST. Also, Cabela's has them on sale from time to time - right now they are 6.49 there. Quote
Super User Spankey Posted June 29, 2019 Super User Posted June 29, 2019 Great bait, I'm sort of new to them this season. I'm a Rapala freak so I'm always somewhat ready to jump on board with their stuff. Been river and lake fishing with them catching fish with them. I agree with a post above that I do not believe I get 6 feet with them. I have not tried or bought the shallower version and probably won't. Their color pattern selection is good. Have only used carbon and shiner colors. Quote
