So my gf wants to delve into deep cranking with me, and I’m using SK 6xd and 10xd.  She’s strictly a spinning gear girl, so I need to find a spinning rod capable of throwing those 1 oz and 2 oz lures.  Does such an animal exist that isn’t a saltwater 8+ footer?

Spinning reels usually have to high of an IPT for me to consider for deep cranking.

Yeah, but you downsize the reel and fill 3/4, and it works fine, In the case above, he's throwing shot puts, so casting won't be an issue as with smaller baits. I would probably go with a slow rod, braid and a leader. That's how a lot of inshore work with similar sized lures gets done.

Lol well no, I forgot to add that it needs to be relatively light weight....

I was thinking more of reeling those 10Xs over and over.
