Bassafungo Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 So my gf wants to delve into deep cranking with me, and I’m using SK 6xd and 10xd. She’s strictly a spinning gear girl, so I need to find a spinning rod capable of throwing those 1 oz and 2 oz lures. Does such an animal exist that isn’t a saltwater 8+ footer? Quote

Bassafungo Posted June 28, 2019 Author Posted June 28, 2019 Lol well no, I forgot to add that it needs to be relatively light weight.... Quote
Heartland Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Spinning reels usually have to high of an IPT for me to consider for deep cranking. Quote

Yeah, but you downsize the reel and fill 3/4, and it works fine, In the case above, he's throwing shot puts, so casting won't be an issue as with smaller baits. I would probably go with a slow rod, braid and a leader. That's how a lot of inshore work with similar sized lures gets done. 2 hours ago, Bassafungo said: Lol well no, I forgot to add that it needs to be relatively light weight.... I was thinking more of reeling those 10Xs over and over. Quote
