I've had a couple of these for a couple of years now and threw one for the first time this morning before leaving the lake. The little guys, 1-2 lbs went crazy on it, can't wait to hunt something bigger with it. Anyone else try these? Deps Bullshooter 160.

At 110 bucks per bait I am guessing not too many people have these in their normal repertoire of swim baits.

I paid 50 bucks each from Japan.

I've had a full size and a JR, was not a fan of either, but I've not found a bluegill bait yet that has been productive in my local lakes minus a Mattlures U2 gill or Savage Gear line thru 3D bluegill and those were only marginally successful.

They looked really pretty in the water and I was always on edge for the moment a big one would crush it, just never happen. Not many little ones hit them for me either.

That's pretty standard price in the swimbait world. Most guys that fish swimbaits a lot don't even flinch at dropping 100-200 on a bait.

I think gill success is very water specific. My Hardgill is chipped to heck. It’s a swimmer, but not on all waters. Find the right water, and a gill will destroy.

I haven't got into the hard bluegill baits. The bass I chase have a strong preference for shad and blueback herring.

You are so right on that one. I've tried my gill baits in lakes where the predominant baitfish was shad and I wouldn't have any luck at all. Then again, I've got a couple lakes where the shad is absent but are heavy with gill and the bass will slam these baits.

Have you tried the Gantarel yet?

Both sizes and the JDM Chibitrel. They combined for 2 10" fish in months of trying. I just can't get them to eat gill baits here despite the fact that they eat a lot of gills in our lakes. Shad glides, bulls shads, or slammers are a whole other story.
