Super User Koz Posted June 25, 2019 Super User Posted June 25, 2019 OK, here's the premise: Name or post a link to a song that sums up your day fishing today. I'll go first: "She's Gone" by Hall & Oates. I was fishing that same shady point that I posted about the otehr day where I caught three five pounders and a ton more bass. I'm standing about 4 feet up the bank, to the right of the point and in the shade. The grass is almost a foot high just along the bank because the mowers won't dare go near the edge - there's about an 18 inch drop from the edge to the water. Anyway, I'm fishing a Pop-R and I noticed a slight disturbance in the water about 10 feet to my left and right against the bank. I cast my Pop-R beyond and parallel to the bank and work it in. I get near the spot of the disturbance and there's a huge blow up and the battle ensued. The fish was strong enough and pulling towards deep water that I couldn't horse it in. I know it's big so I'm not rushing it and I move down towards the bank. I work the fish close, then lift my rod and start to reach for it. I don't have my net with me, but there's no gators around either. That's when I notice that the Pop-R is hooked on the outside of the mouth of the bass. Oh @%$&! I don't even get close to it with my hand, it gives a hard shake and that was all she wrote. I tried to follow up with more casts but she was gone. I got a good look at her and she was around 6 pounds, maybe more. For me that would have been a great fish, not a PB, but a good one from the bank nevertheless. OK - now it's your turn. Quote
Russ E Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Yesterday it would have to be an old REO speed wagon song. 15-20 MPH winds. Waves rolling over the deck. Spotlock was on most of the day. Trolling motor batteries were dead when I quit. I usually stand to fish but I had to use my seat to keep from falling out of the boat,Still managed to catch a few fish. 3 Quote

Super User Koz Posted June 28, 2019 Author Super User Posted June 28, 2019 Today I was fishing a small 1 acre lagoon that I had never fished before. I was eager to fish it thoroughly because the day before I saw a picture of an 8 pounder pulled out of there. Anyway, fished my trusty Pop-R and landed two bass about two pounds each right away. On the second a 6 foot teenage gator (not a juvenile and not a bulky adult) came out of the woods across the lagoon and made a bee line to my area. So I moved off to the other side of the lagoon, locked on to another bass and here came the gator again. I moved back to my original spot and landed another one, here comes the gator, and we switched sides again. But now I was getting no bites and the gator was still camped out on the other side where I wanted to fish. Thinking quick, I decided to throw a 130 Whopper Plopper to draw the gator back to my side. And wouldn't you know it, I got my first Whopper Plopper strike in a year and landed a 4 pounder. By then I had enough playing tag with the gator and moved to a gator free lagoon. I need to try that lagoon again and hope the gator has moved off. 1 Quote

After Midnight - Fastway Fast way sucked in the 80's and they still suck now that I've heard them again, LOL They did wonders for the VANS shoe company with the checkerboard pattern shoes. I saw Fastway play at a club in Chicago in the mid 80's Can't say I remember anything about the show. 1 Quote
