TM isolator bolts

Do you change yours on a regular basis?  I removed my TM from the boat today, had been on there for at least 15 years.  The isolator bolts had dry rotted and made removal a royal PITA.  Ended up having to cut three of them with a reciprocating saw.

That experience made me think I should change the things every 4-5 years.

the heavy kansas wind popped 2 of mine out sat. ended up drilling the head off one bolt and pushing it through. sawz-alls and my boat dont mix. on the flip side i was able to put a great coat of wax over that erea. 2 hours and $11 in part i felt like i got off easy.

I started to drill them out, but didn't have time nor a bit long enough.  As it is I barely got the front two pushed out.  They must have been almost touching the hull.

I did scratch up the fiberglass a bit, but it's an old junky boat anyway.

I just wish the rest of the gel coat looked as good as what was under the old TM mount.

i hate those rubber things. they are garbage and fall apart all the time. i bolt my trolling motor right to the front of the boat so its solid

for me they seem to work well. they lasted since 2001 so i have no complaints. if everything else on the boat was as durrable id be happy. my trolling motor gets  beat down badly.
