So I'm new to fancy sonar units and this is my first season with the Humminbird Helix.  I'm not sure offhand the exact model but its a 9" G2N with DI and SI that networks with my Ultrex trolling motor.  The issue I'm having is the SI display is showing a split screen top and bottom half with the left and right side views and when I do the combo view with sonar and SI, it only gives me the sonar and the right side view.  It seems to work fine when I use sonar and DI though.  I have seen these SI displays show a line down the middle of the screen vertically and both views on their respective sides of the screen but I cannot get mine to do that in either just the SI display or the combo views.  I looked in the manual but I didn't see how to change this setting.  Could anyone help me out with what I need to do to get this corrected so I can start using this view more often?

Make sure you don't have the ones you cannot find hidden in the menu.  There is a menu (setup I think) that assigns one of two values to each view, either "hidden" or "visible" or some such word to show it's not hidden.  If it's designated "hidden," it will not be visible as you scroll through the different views when operating the unit.

Mine has many more available than I want to use.  I hope this is the solution to your missing views.

This is only happening on the one view? All other pages that include SI views have both L and R sides showing?

There is a setting in the menu options for each page view with SI that will allow you to isolate either side for viewing.  You will have to access your menu, make sure that you have the SI "side" of your Sonar/SI page selected(You will see a small arrow next to the center split line pointing to the active side). With this side selected you can go through your second menu set and find the SI options and find the line that allows you to select which side is visible, "Left", "Both", or "Right".  It will take some seat time navigating the menus, but once you see it and get comfortable with the menus you'll be a pro in no time!

I found an image on google showing the menu you are looking for, I made a green box around the line you will want to change when you find it.

I think this may be more what I need to do.  When I get to the lake this weekend I will give this a shot and see if that setting was changed when I was initially trying to set it up.  THanks!

@eyesnskis So I went into the settings you described and found the issue, it was exactly what you mentioned.  For some reason I only had the one side enabled.  I do however appear to have another issue which I'm going to have to look into which is the L side view does not seem to be working correctly.  If I'm trolling a bank the right side gives me a good view but if I travel the other way it doesn't seem to give me the same level of clarity from the left side of the same area.  Not sure what that could be but at least I've got the R side view and the different screens all working properly now.  Thank you again for your help.

Try bumping the trim on your outboard up a bit, see if that helps. Depending on where your transducer is placed the outboard motor sometimes interferes with the view of the transducer.

I believe the dealership installed it so it's using the transducer on the trolling motor.  I'm not 100% since this is all pretty foreign to me but I do know it is networked to the TM for the iPilot link and there is a GPS receiver mounted on the deck by the console.  I'll take a look this weekend and see if I can find another transducer somewhere near the transom.

SI is probably coming from your transducer at the stern.

As @Tim Kelly mentioned, try trimming your outboard up while watching your screen, might help

I'll give it a whirl this weekend.  Thanks for the tip both of you!

Another issue could be if the transducer is not set level across, it could be not reading correctly. If it’s on the stern, it’s a simple fix with a small torpedo level and loosening/retightening a couple screws.

I would agree with @Tim Kelly that the difference what you see on each side is due to the transducer install location.   Would you be able to snap a picture of the back of the boat so we can see where the transducer is installed?  Could you take a picture of what it looks like on the screen too?

It's more than likely that the transducer is installed at the stern if you are viewing your unit on the console. If indeed the transducer was installed on the trolling motor, a SI transducer will be installed with large hose clamps on the motor assembly of the trolling motor. Your Ultrex is only available with a US2(standard sonar) or Mega Down Imaging transducer built in, not SI.

I think it's in "setup" where you assign the transducers for each function.  You can have your trolling motor be the source for some and the mega transducer at the stern for others.  I can't imagine you don't have a big flat one at the stern, the mega transducer.

Humminbird offers a power unit that allows you to screw around with the Helix in the house, plug into a 110 outlet.
