PezJunkie Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Looking for a good on board charger curious to know what you guys use out there and what good thing and bad things you have to say about different ones from experience. Quote
jdw174 Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 I have a DualPro 3-bank model that is 10 years old, has run 24/7 since I brought the boat home(other than when I'm fishing), and has never skipped a beat. It's the only brand I'd even consider...... Quote
Olebiker Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Dual Pro: I bought a rebuilt one directly from Dual Pro last year at a considerable savings over retail. It is one of the best things I have ever done to make fishing more enjoyable. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted July 1, 2008 Super User Posted July 1, 2008 My rig came with a Dual Pro. After 5 years of hard use one bank quit working. I checked around for another and couldn't believe the price. I finally called Dual Pro and asked if they could repair mine. I was told no but they would give me a $100 trade in. So I have a second dual pro. I am quite happy with that company. Quote
Al Wolbach Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 I ordered a three bank Dual Pro charger with my boat 10 years ago and it still works good. Never had a problem with it.............Al Quote

So I have a second dual pro. I am quite happy with that company. I did the same thing and when I sent the old one in, they fixed it and sent it back to me. I called and the guy on the phone said, oh well, can you use another? I laughed and said yes, thank you! So now I have a dual pro in the boat and a second one in my boat storage unit, tending a few extra batteries. I would like a 3 bank but if you use the boat with any regularity, the starting battery stays charged. I use a trickle charger on rare occasion in the winter. I wouldn't even consider owning a boat without an onboard charger. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted July 2, 2008 Super User Posted July 2, 2008 I did the same as Olebiker. Bought a re-built one from DualPro. Love it! Stay away from the BPS units. According to the reviews on the BPS web site, their units crap out after about a year or so. Quote
