Anyone else have trouble with the markings rubbing off on the magnetic breaks on the outside of the cover. I’m talking about the team lews custom black lfs baitcaster combo.

None of my Lew’s baitcasters (Mach 1, Mach Crush, LFS, Tournament MB and Mark Rose) have markings on the side cover. Just “Free” and “Max” with indents for the adjustment spots.

I assume your reel had had painted on numbers? I have reels like that. My Kastking Spartacus comes to mind. The numbers and logo wore off on that reel after a short time.

This is the second replacement I got cause the first one had the same issue. Used the rod for the first time and the markings started coming off. For a price point of $279 this is bad. I feel like this might be a massive defect.

And this affects your fishing how?

I don't look at it as a "massive defect" but rather a cosmetic defect.

It doesn’t affect my fishing but but for the price I expect better.

I just bought a Mach Crush for my frog stick and they've removed the numbers altogether, just a Min-Max designation. I think it's an overall issue with the paint they use as my Tournament Pro has the granite grey paint worn off the top where my thumbs rubs and rests, no such issue on any of my Shimanos. My guess is they are not using a clear coat for protection.

On another note I was upset when the orange color on the Crush turned out to be paint rather than anodizing as evidenced by the noticeable overspray around the spool. That being said I hated the color before I bought it but the 22lbs of drag was perfect for my intended application and the price was right.

That’s what I was thinking they didn’t put a clear coat over the markings to protect them.
