sharkbite23 Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 With summer officially here, I wanted to get some info on how to catch fish. My question is: what techniques or baits work best in the summer months? Some context: I mostly fish from the shore or from a kayak and I live in SoCal. Thanks! 1 Quote

928JLH Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Summer for me in AZ is topwater early morning and evenings. Spooks, Sammie, Poppers, Pompadour and the good old frog. If you have grass flats try ripping lipless crankbaits, chatterbaits, or popping weedless underspins out of it. Did surprisingly well with spybaits in the heat last year. Carolina rigs, Texas rig and jigs work great on deep offshore structure and ledges. Here it's like clockwork where bass come up and feed early morning and late afternoon on the ledges. Good luck. Summer can be infuriatingly frustrating, or wide open like whack a mole. Quote
