EWREX Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 While on vacation fishing down in Tennessee, I had my all purpose MH rod snap in half. I almost wasn't mad because it gave me a reason to buy a new rod, which we all know is one of our favorite things to do! Went to my go-to tackle shop which happens to be in my home town (shoutout to tackle supply depot). I opted for the Daiwa Tatula Elite 7'3 Medium Heavy Ehrler model. x45 graphite blank, fuji alconite guides and fuji reel seat, EVA foam grips. I chose this model because it would basically act as my workhorse rod that I can throw the kitchen sink at. So fast forward about one month later to today after tournament fishing and weekend fishing, I absolutely LOVE this rod. Super light and sensitive beyond belief whether I'm throwing a 1/2oz jig or a senko, but has plenty of strength and backbone to rip fish out of weeds and structure right into the boat. Super reactive when throwing chatterbaits, lipless crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. I feel like Daiwa get's a TON of attention for their reels deservedly so, and not as much attention on their rods. They hit it out of the park with the Tatula elite. Definitely going to find some excuses to upgrade a few of the rods in my arsenal to these. Quote
Junger Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 The Tatula Elite 7' M/MH AGS is my favorite rod, I really like the AGS guides and super soft tip. I just got the 7'4 H/F AGS frog rod and will be giving it a whirl this weekend. 2 Quote

Jason Penn Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 i'm a huge daiwa rod fan. i love their air beam & older reel seats. it seems they're trying to move more in a standard direction though. junger, i dont have the 7'4 ags steez, i have the xt. the tip is a lot softer than the xh rating implies. it's really a great football jig rod. i would imagine the ags will be even better than the xt. 2 Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted June 21, 2019 Super User Posted June 21, 2019 No experience with the Elites, but I am a fan of the OG Tatula rods. Heck....I even like my V.I.P Smallmouth casting rod. 1 Quote
NathanDLTH Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 The 7’3 is one of my favorite rods, just does so much well in terms of techniques. Spinnerbait, topwater, jigs, small swimbaits, and more. Mine is paired up with a Zillion 7:3:1 and it’s perfect. 1 Quote

NathanDLTH Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Thanks dude, wish this model has the AGS guides, it would be perfect then and is darn near perfect now. Spinnerbaits no problems, chatterbaits yep. I’m confident a frog in open water would hold up just fine. Quote
Largies4Life Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 I have the 7'4" spinning model and just got it this spring and only got to use it a handful of times and then fractured my hand! Going to switch the handle over so I can still use it because I hate seeing that rod just sit there and not get any use! Definitely my favorite spinning setup I have right now. Quote
