Super User ChrisD46 Posted June 19, 2019 Super User Posted June 19, 2019 I saw the Big Bite 5" Trick Stick at a new Academy by me recently - anyone use on a T-Rig EWG hook ? Curious how the action and durability is on the Trick Sticks - they are meaty looking with a nice price point ... My reference for stick worms are : Senko , SK Ocho & Yum Dinger ... Thanks in advance ! Quote
budgetbassin Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 I use them quite often. I usually buy them by the 25 pack from Tackle Warehouse. I almost always wacky rig them without an o-ring. Like most other stick baits, they'll last 2-4 fish before they are thrown off the hook when fighting a fish. They catch fish just fine for me. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Big_Bite_Baits_Trick_Stick/descpage-BBBTRST.html?from=basres Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted June 19, 2019 Super User Posted June 19, 2019 I buy them because they have some unique colors. They catch fish comparable to any other stickbait. I generally tx rig them with a small tungsten weight and throw them at objects. I save my senkos for wacky rigs. Quote
jakkbauer Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 trick stick is closest to senko imo. its not a senko buts its d**n close. i will use them over senko due to a price you cant beat Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 20, 2019 Global Moderator Posted June 20, 2019 They sink extremely slowly and with very little action in my experience. They're a good one to use with a weighted T rig but not one of my first choices if I want a weightless rigged bait. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted June 20, 2019 Super User Posted June 20, 2019 I tried them years ago and when they were clearance/sale priced for $1.00 a bag and had no luck with them. They seemed like they would work but again just didn't catch anything compared to other baits. If I want to get a budget priced senko..... Yum Dingers have worked great for me. I can often find them at DSG for about $2.00 a bag but I do have better luck with the original Senkos. 1 Quote

From the videos I have seen since posting - there wasn't much action to the Trick Sticks ... Looks like something I would buy in Green Pumpkin & Black/ Blue T-Rigged with a 1/4 oz. tungsten bullet weight and pitch / flip to cover or objects . A "stick bait reaction bite" (if there is such a thing) ... I'll stay with Senkos , Ochos, BPS Stik - O and maybe Yum Dingers when I need more action in a stick bait . 1 Quote

Super User the reel ess Posted June 20, 2019 Super User Posted June 20, 2019 I like them. They're actually the first stick bait I caught a fish on. They seem to be more durable than the Senko. And they ALWAYS seem to be on clearance. The crazy colors work. Quote
