Keep it clean , it will last many many years. Keeping your reels in a rod locker or having covers on them goes a long way when transporting your rods/reels.

I have the SLX XT. For $20 more it's worth having the SVS infinity and the extra bearing on the main shaft.

I thought some guys on here said they prefer the old reliable VBS, that the SVS was to finicky. I can always add the bearing to my 2 SLX reels. Any other differences? Usually XT signifies extra corrosion protection.

Idk if it has arb spool bearings or not , it doesn't really say on the box.The Australian website does say saltwater ready.

There are no extra seals.

SLX DC will be released next month. Should put it on par with those wanting a DC but not wanting to spend that much.

IDK about the not spending much part. I have a buddy that works at BPS and he says they show in their system at $199.

It's a Curado DC with a different paint job for the Australian market.

Oh, thanks. I had my hopes up for an exact same size SLX with the DC function.

Oh? I was just going by the vid posted above. They said it's a standard Curado body.

The SLX body will be used across 3 styles here in the U.S.  Not sure what the Aussie's got going on down there. ☺️

Thanks, any idea on release date and price on the DC SLX?

Think $179. Released next month but on store shelves probably couple more months?

I have several of the regular slx reels so I'm also curious if they'll last like older shimanos.  I hope so. I've had a cple of them opened up and they seem legit. Just hoping shimano doesnt do like everything else does and make worse products that are more technologically advanced and expensive.  I'm hoping for curado 200e7 durability but only time will tell

They'll last. This real is sturdy and reminds me of the old Chronarch and Curado 51e's. A few bearings less, but you can always add bearings after. If you want size, go with the SLX. If you want smooth, then get the Curado K which is the next step up. But as far as longevity, I don't see any issues with the SLX. I have two SLX along with a few K's, Bantums, Metanium MGL's, and an arsenal of Curado and Chronarch 51e's. For the price, you can't beat it.
