BadBasser Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 I will be taking my little 14' 9.9 hp tracker from Ohio to Alpena the week of the 23 to try my hand at some smallmouth. What can I expect this time of year. What stage are they in? Shallow deep? etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 18, 2019 Super User Posted June 18, 2019 Haven't been over that way this season. Smallies near the 75 corridor north of 32 and west to TC are all post spawn - Green bass as well. Pike are biting pretty good though. Good Luck and hope you have 14 footer fisherman friendly conditions where ever you go. A-Jay Quote
BadBasser Posted June 18, 2019 Author Posted June 18, 2019 Thanks, A-Jay, I know wind will be my enemy, but I'm hoping for the best. Quote
abhgroup Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Are you headed to long lake or grand lake perhaps? I'll be on grand lake that week, looking for the same thing. Looks like a wet start to the week. Good luck. Quote
BadBasser Posted June 19, 2019 Author Posted June 19, 2019 I am thinking Long, Grand Winyah. Any advice? Quote
abhgroup Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 I have no advice. Down near Lansing everything is behind, I know it's the same up there. I'd love to know water temps for a lake that far north. They're usually in post spawn with bellies full of mayflies this time of year on grand lake. Quote
