Dreadnought Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Hello... as the title says what has been your best bait or lure this year catching bass?... Thanks ! Mine has been...jackhammer and a megabass dark sleeper by a long shot...ive been killing them on the sleeper ? Quote
Glaucus Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Different now than it was in spring. Now it's a jig n craw, followed by KVD 1.5. I guess the Ned Rig catches the most but it really isn't a fair comparison. Quote
greentrout Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 zoom green pumpkin trick worm ... t rigged ... and weightless ... good fishing ... Quote
papajoe222 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Welcome The same as it has been for the last few decades; Jig/plastic trailer. The trailer changes throughout the seasons and the jig's weight often does, too. I kept a fishing log for years and would review it during the off season. It (the jig) accounted for over 50% of my catches year after year. It also produced most of my biggest catches each year. Quote

Super User Koz Posted June 17, 2019 Super User Posted June 17, 2019 Strike King Sexy Shad buzzbait has been killer and I'm on my second one of the season. The first got hit and bent up so much the slot holding the prop broke off. Senkos have been pretty good as well. Earlier in the year the chatterbait was king. I will say that this year I have done a better job at adapting to conditions and choosing the right bait. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted June 17, 2019 Super User Posted June 17, 2019 For the entire year spinnerbait by far . Last time out it was plastic Lizards and Stanley Ribbit . Quote
Justin Roberts Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Weighted texas rigged swimbaits, green pumpkin and white have produced well here in southern Oklahoma Quote

Super User Log Catcher Posted June 17, 2019 Super User Posted June 17, 2019 Welcome to the forum. I haven't been fishing enough this year to have a most productive lure. Quote

Black Hawk Basser Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Bass Pro Shops 1/2 oz black/red double Colorado spinnerbait w/Berkley Grass Pig Jr (California) This has been my go-to when there's wind and/or clouds for 3-4 years. I even got a 21" walleye out of a gravel pit with it on Saturday. Quote
Joshua van Wyk Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 For me the swim jig has been dynamite. The sunfish one @Munkin makes is my best producer with a rage menace trailer. I've been throwing it as close to cover as i possibly can and the majority of my bites come on the fall and when i burn them back to the bank. 2 Quote
snake95 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 This is one of those things where the results should be relative, since we are all in different stages of the bass' year, and our conditions vary by region and even by angler. I'm mostly fishing small GA ponds from the bank so far, and my most productive bait in terms of numbers has to be the neko-rigged TRD with a VMC neko hook size 2 inserted chicken-rig style and a Zman neko shroomz head. I've done well with the regular old TRD in Drew's craw. 1 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted June 17, 2019 Super User Posted June 17, 2019 Back in April and early May my most productive bait was a Mann’s baby 1 minus. Now it’s a toss up between topwaters and bottom contact soft plastics. 1 Quote
DSTN Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Ned Rig (TRD on 1/16oz head) has caught the most fish. Squarebills, spinnerbaits, and weightless stick worms are not too far behind. Still waiting for the topwater bite to fire up... Quote
Hawkeye21 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 For quantity it's a tie between a wacky rigged senko and the ned rig. For quality it's the chatterbait. Quote

Sad thing is everyone is catching fish on those swim jigs but me. Whiteish spinnerbait with dual Indiana blades has been working the best for me lately. Allen Quote
