pc9460 Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 I am currently trying to find a spinning rod for my new Shimano nasci 2500. I think something that is MF is something I’m looking for but don’t know which rod to get. Looking to spend no more than $100. Looking to make it a multipurpose rod as I use one for crank baits and the other for spinner baits, chatterbaits and pretty much anything else at the moment with just having two casting setups. Quote
pc9460 Posted June 16, 2019 Author Posted June 16, 2019 Anyone have any experience with this rod? https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/dobyns-fury-spinning-rod-18dbyufryfr702sfsrod/18dbyufryfr702sfsrod Quote

Haven't got a chance to get it on the water but it is so light, well balanced and well constructed. I also run a 3-rod setup and I got the medium because I've seen people say the Dobyn's rods are a little softer than their rated power, so I figured I could fish all my finesse techniques with the M instead of the ML and be fine. GeekOutdoors Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 I'd take a look at the Fenwick HMG 7' MF Quote
Brad Reid Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Take a hard look at the Reign Rods which are essentially St. Croix rod blanks as best I can tell and seem to have similar componentry. I have 6 or 7 St. Croix rods, two Reigns . . . and I can't really tell much, if any difference. $70 or so as I recall. Brad Quote
