ReggieT Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Hey Guys, Been trying to lcoate these particular spoons for doing some tailrace fishing @ Wheeler Dam. A guy named Benny Hull aka the "Ol Stump Bumper" was selling them and fishing them for years. I spoke with a local guide and he said they went out of business and sold the last remaining inventory to a tackle outfit named, "Foley". Is anybody familar with these spoons or know anything about Foley Tackle? Or can you pass down some proven winners for certain spoons that you've fished with around the dams? Here is a pic of the spoons in question. Thanks, Reg Quote
ReggieT Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 ****UPDATE*** Foun out they've been replaced by Foley Spoons. Is anyone familair with this brand of spoons? Quote
BassNJake Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Hi Reggie - I am a member at the chattanooga fishing forum.(https://www.chattanoogafishingforum.com) I go there for details on what is happening specifically at Chickamauga. One of the moderators(spurhunter) there sells these foley spoons. The guys over there swear by them. I have never used one or seen one in person. Just wanted to let you know of somewhere else you may want to go to check them out. 1 Quote

LOL Have a good one Keeper! 1 Quote
Get Hooked Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 The Name BoJoLe came from abbreviations of the 1st Names of three fishing buddies who were producing this Spoon: Bob, John and Lee. The Spoons ended up exclusively Mfgd. by Bob. John passed away and Lee was an original investor who fully retired. Benny Hull was a friend of Bob who helped promote this Flutter Spoon through his guide business and was Distributing them. Then Bob passed away. (Bob) Dr. Robert Norman Rogers, age 84 of Indian Springs Village passed away Friday January 26, 2018. He practiced dentistry and was the owner of Bessemer Dental Clinic for 50 years.. There is sum misinformation Posted on what happened to BoJoLe Spoons. "Foley Spoons actually put the Bojole Flutter Spoons out of Business!" Not so, the last of the 3 original partners passed away and no family member was interested in taking over the business and all the Dyes and Equipment was sold off but I don't know as of yet if and when they are going to be Manufactured or maybe the Foley Spoon Co. did purchase it all. BoJoLe Spoons came in 5 Sizes with a 3 1/4" and a 4" being the largest which could be trolled up to 5mph. ReggieT. You will be glad that you purchased Foley's. They are an original Spoon design and a great producing lure for all types of fish whether trolling or casting. 1 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted June 21, 2019 Super User Posted June 21, 2019 Dentists making spoons? Tony Accetta is rolling in his grave.... There are and were several small local spoon makers (both fresh and salt) making region specific designs that sometimes garner a broader following. Those actually look really good, a bit like Drones. What keeps most spoons from becoming more popular is that they are often quite speed and tackle specific. In the hands of someone who knows what they are doing, they can be a day's best lure. You haven't lived until a thresher decides to hit a bunker spoon when you are wire line trolling for striped bass. 1 Quote
