BigBassCatcher Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 TW has a nice sale on it $200 rod for 130. But I can't find many reviews on it, never heard of Ark. Is it shady or worth the plunge? Quote
microotter Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 It’ not shady they are a real company. Here is a tackletour review: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewarkrodssnp70mxc.html I have never used one myself. Quote
Chris186 Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I don't have a Sniper, but I do have an Ark Tharp series cranking rod called the "grinder". Its a glass composite rod, its a really nice rod and casts baits a mile. I personally feel it lacks a little sensitivity compared to a graphite cranking rod but thats to be expected. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Ark rod at all. Quote
BigBassCatcher Posted June 12, 2019 Author Posted June 12, 2019 Gotcha thanks. I might try it out. Quote
Eynt Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I bought the 6'10 med and 7'6 heavy during the Xmas sale. They were on sale for $99 back then. They are solid rods and balance pretty well. I been using the 6'10" a lot for jerk baits, light and responsive. Have not used the 7'6" yet. Quote

I bought the 6'10" Medium on sale at the $130 price. Never saw the $99 sale price. Unfortunately it hasn't had a reel on it so I can't give any feedback yet. I've been working two jobs....again....for about a year. Fishing has taken a back seat. Sucks locally anyway which is why I quit for 23 years after moving to this area. Hopefully I will get out to use it...and a few others that haven't been used yet...soon. Quote

Yes it was on sale for 99 before 129, I was gonna pull the trigger so many d**n time in the model you bought, to use mainly Fluke and weightless worm. Send it to me, I’ll fish for you and give you the feedback ? Quote
Dreveal Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I own 2 one is the 610MLXS spinning rod which I have fished for a couple of years. Really like the rod a lot. Great finesse rod. The other is a 70MHXC which I have only cast a couple of times. It is by far the fastest rod I have ever owned. Both are lightweight and seem to be well built. Great deal at the $130 price point. Found them on TW and then emailed the company a couple of questions and they got right back to me. Quote

By fastest do you mean the taper? Is that a good thing or does it make it hard to cast? Quote
uglyasheck Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 I bought the 7'Medxf at Christmas and it is a good little rod very versatile but I use mine for light Texas rig and weightless rig. It is a little stiff with the xf but it has good sensitivity in fact I had to get use to it because I was pulling the trigger to quick. Quote

The top is the only part that really flexes. It casts baits within its range very well but I wouldn't try anything too light with the casting rod. I think it is personal preference. I like the rod and will probably fish everything but crankbaits with it Quote
